  • Family photojournalism is a unique style of photography that differs significantly from traditional posed and directed portrait photography. It taking a "fly on the wall" approach, I’ll observe and document your family's everyday life without interfering or staging scenes. Instead of creating artificial poses and forced smiles, I focus on capturing genuine, unscripted moments as they naturally occur.

  • First and foremost, try to stay calm and relaxed. Remember that the goal is to capture genuine moments, which can sometimes include moments of unpredictability. Embrace the spontaneity of the moment, it might lead to unexpected, candid shots that tell a unique story.

  • Your home may not be ripped from the pages of Architectural Digest, but it’s perfect. It’s where you can relax, let your guard down and be in your element, surrounded by your favorite people and things. Your home will work just fine, however if you have a local place that is important to your family. We can work around that.

  • No dress codes here! Probably the most stressful task of a traditional family photoshoot, is no longer an issue. I believe part of being your full self is deciding how you choose to show up. I want you and your family to be the most comfy, the most at ease and the most you!

  • There's no need to plan specific activities for a family photojournalism session. The beauty of this style lies in its candor. I’ll document your family's everyday life as it unfolds naturally. However, if there are certain activities or locations that hold special meaning to your family, I’d be happy to include them to add a personal touch to the session.

  • Barring unsafe travel conditions or natural disasters, I can shoot rain or shine. As long as we have a window or two we can get beautiful images. Don’t let bad weather discourage you, there are a ton indoor activities that make for great family moments.

  • I am absolutely able to travel to your session. Mileage fees apply after 40 miles. If there is a need to travel further we can make a plan for that too.
